Growing up in Scandinavia part of the year gave me an understanding of cultivating moments of warmth and comfort, inside and out. The holidays especially are a time when everyone’s hearts and minds toward family, laughter and special memories. It’s what we call hygge. Hygge (pronounced ˈh(y)o͞oɡə) is a Danish word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.
We achieve this in a myriad of ways - through hand-knitted socks, cozy fires and blankets, a steaming cup of tea, soup, books, sweet treats, candles, etc. This recipe guide is designed to share with you recipes that bring comfort, joy and warmth into your holiday season.
We encourage you to brew some chai, mull some wine, bake some treats and then just enjoy yourself. See if you can surrender the need to get it all done, to make it "perfect" or to stress the details. Enjoy the moment in this cozy season of warmth and joy.
