Dirty Chai Latte Recipe

The days leading up to the holidays can feel, quite frankly, like more of a daze. With so much to plan, prep and accomplish, it's easy to feel fatigued and like you've run out of energy. Even though gathering with family and friends is joyful, entertaining can be exhausting. With so much stress, it's no surprise our immune systems become strained. We can all use ways to reset and rejuvenate ourselves.

One easily accessible option? Our Dirty Chai. The name of this caffeinated concoction is a bit of a misnomer. In terms of drink descriptions, adding an ingredient that somehow changes the color or character of the original drink is what makes it "dirty." Although deemed "dirty" by virtue of its makeup, our recipe is actually quite clean — in terms of ingredients. It contains many spices that are superior antioxidants and inflammation inhibitors. Consider the clove: Just ½ teaspoon of ground cloves is said to contain more antioxidants than ½ cup of blueberries.

Featuring filtered water, our Masala Chai Concentrate is composed of Firepot's classic chai spice blend (an all-organic array of cinnamoncardamom, coriander, ginger, black pepper, and cloves), organic cane sugar and organic black tea from India, lemon juice, and just a pinch of sea salt.

In addition to containing piperline, which has powerful antioxidant properties, black pepper stimulates digestive enzymes, enhancing the absorption of nutrients.

Beyond battling inflammation and boasting an excellent antioxidant profile, the versatile, warming spice ginger has also been widely used for centuries to treat digestive ailments.
