This is one of my all-time favorite green teas. It is plucked and processed at Jun Chiyabari, a tea garden in the Himalayan foothills in Eastern Nepal. The garden, a passion project of brothers Lochan and Bachan Gyawali, is one of the most pristine I have seen and the tea there grows alongside sacred tulsi, magical marigold and other wild and native herbs that thrive in the clean, organic soils.
Our partners in Nepal, the Gyawali brothers, are gentlemen, connoisseurs, outdoor enthusiasts and all-around good people. They have employed the best tea-makers and pluckers, and have searched the world for the most flavorful plants and artisan processes to create their extraordinary teas. Their attention to detail and precision shines through, and you can taste and feel it in the cup.
In addition to Himalayan Mountain Green, we also carry Himalayan Shiiba and Himalayan Royal Ruby in our Masters and Pioneers collection. If ever there were an iconic taste of the purity and peace of Nepal, this is it.
A stone’s throw over the border from the famous tea-growing region of Darjeeling, Nepal’s fertile soils and misty Himalayan foothills have given birth to uncommonly flavorful teas. Ours is made from the spring harvest and flavorful cultivars at the venerable Jun Chiyabari tea garden. Made with organic green tea leaves from the spring harvest in Dhankuta, Nepal, sip this transcendent tea for a pure taste from Nepal’s sacred mountains.
We're very proud of not just this tea, but also the beautiful friendships and deep relationships that have developed across the world so that we can bring it to you.
